Program Rationale

Development trends in Asia and in the world are redefining the leadership role of managers. In a world of increasingly complex organizations, it is imperative that tomorrow's managers are prepared. It is no longer sufficient to be a bachelor's degree holder, rather managers are expected to be experts in their disciplines and to possess superb leadership styles to meet the demands of global management. The MDM program of Norton University will facilitate acquisition of these competencies to help develop THE MANAGERS OF TOMORROW.


Curriculum Integration

All the courses in the MDM program are integrative. They allow the students to reconstruct their knowledge and experiences as they explore the different areas essential to sound management. Their practical experiences working in the government or private organizations are put to test as they formulate hypotheses and search for more questions in their day to day managerial responsibilities. This academic interplay of ideas will develop their abilities to articulate their own vision as managers able to cope with uncertainties and lead in the management of change in their work place.


Curriculum Structure
There are two tracks to obtain the MDM:
  1. Thesis track

  2. The student takes 14 courses and conducts a research thesis that is then reported in the official format. A defense of the thesis is then made on which a student can be considered for the award of the degree.
  3. Non-thesis track

  4. The student takes 18 courses only. The student who chooses this track takes 4 more course than those required of students in the thesis track. The GPA requirement must be met in these courses.

The courses detailed below list the planned curriculum for the MDM program. However, Norton University may change some of these courses in order to provide our students with the education required by Cambodian Government departments and Non Government Organizations.
